12. Always approach dogs calmly, carefully and slowly.
Let the dog sniff you, thats how they get to know you.
Never approach a dog from behind, even one you know, because you could startle it and it may bite you.
13. Always ask the owners permission before petting a dog. If the owner is not around leave the dog alone. If it is a stray dog, stay well away.
Please may I pat your dog?
15. Never hug your dog or any dog around the neck,
because you may trigger the dog's bite reflex and the dog will bite you.

16. Children should not take their dog out for a walk unless accompanied by an adult, because if a situation arises eg: encounter with a stray dog, children don't have the strength or pressence of mind to act quickly enough.
14. Never tease a dog (eg: shouting, yelling, barking, throwing things, pulling faces etc) These actions can cause a dog to attack you. Remember dogs have feelings the same as we do.
Remember!
Any dog may bite you to defend itself, if it is teased, hit or abused.
Dogs just like us, want to be treated with love, respect & understanding
